Our understanding of the Scripture are summarized and confessed in the Three Forms of Unity:

• The Belgic Confession. Guido de Brès is the main author of this confession. The Synod of Dort (1618-1619) revised the text and adopted it as one of the doctrinal standards of the reformed churches.

• The Heidelberg Catechism. Zacharius Ursinus and Caspar Olevianus were commissioned by Elector Frederick III to write a catechism to help pastors and teachers instruct young people in the Christian and reformed faith.

• The Canons of Dort. The Synod of Dort (1618-1619) drafted these articles in response to the teachings of Arminius, who departed from the Reformed faith on five essential doctrines.

We also confess the Ecumenical Creeds:

• The Apostles' Creed. The "12 Articles" contains a brief summary of key teachings of the apostles.

• The Nicene Creed. It was written as a response to the teachings of Arianism, a false teaching about Jesus. 

• The Athanasian Creed. Named after Athanasius of Alexandria, it was a response to the post-Nicene false teachings regarding the person of Jesus Christ.

The 5 Pillars of the reformed theology can be summarized as follow:

• Sripture alone (sola Scriptura)

• Grace alone (sola gratia)

• Faith alone (sola fide)

• Christ alone (solus Christus)

• ​Glory to God alone (soli Deo gloria)
